Torrie, one of the most skilled wrestlers in history, emerged from the huge and sprawling farms of Boise. Wilson began her career as a performer following her and her boyfriend visited WCW on the stage backstage. She ended up accompanying Scott Steiner to the ring as well, and she remained in the industry for close to a decade in the years following. Wilson had also supervised opponents David Flair (occasionally), Billy Kidman, Shanth Douglas, and The Filthy Children as she competed on the WCW circuit. Wilson was offered a job by WWE in 2001, when the company acquired WCW. Her sporting ability and passion for entertainment helped make Wilson an ideal fit to WWE in a period when the business was at the most activity. Wilson played an integral role in WCW's efforts to break into WWE. Wilson teamed up with Stacy Kibler, her friend and, sometimes rival, who was her primary partner. Wilson, who had fought during the invasion of WCW, was an integral part of WWE's Women's Division, engaged in memorable feuds with Keibler Sable, and Melina. The family of her mother was also in danger when she took on Dawn Marie for their honor.
